Real Madrid have made no secret of their heavy interest in the winger, and Zidane, who still works for the Spaniards, admitted he?s been watching every Spurs game with the sole intention of keeping an eye on Bale.
He even claimed that he?s now in the same bracket as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking to the English media, Zidane said: ?What has particularly impressed me is that he is consistently scoring spectacular goals and very important goals. He is very quick, skilful and exciting.
Aside from Ronaldo and Messi, he is the player who has impressed me the most in the world. He is outstanding.?
Tottenham are desperate to tie him down to White Hart Lane, but it?s almost as if he?s Real Madrid?s number one target this summer, so Spurs could potentially name their price.
With Bale not yet putting pen to paper, Zidane?s comments could put the Welshman in a tight situation.
Will Bale choose to remain at Spurs and go for the Champions League? Or will he choose to partner up with the likes of Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Casillas, getting coaching tips off Zidane along the way?
