Van Bommel's desire...

Mark van Bommel has stated that he would seriously consider a move to White Hart Lane in the summer as he seeks to find a new club. The Dutch midfield international had been linked with Spurs in the past, but also with Arsenl and Chelsea as he announced his want to play in the Premiership, for a London club. Currently with PSV Eindhoven, van Bommel said that Spurs is ,"A fine club with a beautiful stadium and a good squad" adding that he had played at the Lane with the Dutch team. The timing of these remarks tie in with reports that David Pleat has been a frequent visitor to the Netherlands in recent weeks. Van Bommel has one year left on his contract but his employers are looking to lose him now for a fee, rather than next year, for nothing.
