According to whispers in the media Tottenham Hotspur are set to enter the January transfer market despite repeated rumours that chairman Daniel Levy last month told manager Harry Redknapp he would have to raise any transfer funds through player sales.
Spurs have been linked with a move for former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini who is struggling to demand a place in the AC Milan side, while they are also said to be close to finally signing long-term Brazilian target Sandro, from Internacional.
Infamous wheeler and dealer 'Arry is said to be monitoring the situation with Joe Cole as well and may look to balance the Spurs books through the sale of unsettled Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, who is being linked with Zenit St Petersburg.
Elsewhere, struggling Hull City look set to sell midfielder Stephen Hunt to Wolves in a bid to ease their financial woes and it appears Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will also be allocated the funds to bring some new faces to Anfield.
Atletico Madrid winger Maxi Rodriguez is expected to sign in the coming days and the Merseysiders are also tipped to pip Arsenal and Inter Milan to the signing of Bordeaux's Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh.
Meanwhile, Everton's Marouane, Fellaini that is, has been linked with a high profile move to Chelsea following his father's claims that "he belongs at a top club". There's nothing like pushy parents.
