Tottenham have confirmed that midfielder Oliver Skipp will miss the rest of the season with a pubis injury that has now been operated on.
Skipp has not featured since January's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League. In the months since, Spurs have kept their cards close to their chest concerning his return.
However, on Tuesday they finally confirmed that the home-grown starlet would not be returning before the end of the current campaign.
"We can confirm that Oliver Skipp has undergone surgery in America this morning (Tuesday 26 April) to repair a pubis injury and will be out for the remainder of the season," a statement read.
"The Academy graduate, 21, will now undergo a period of recovery and is expected to return to training for the pre-season period."
Skipp made a promising start to the season before he was ruled out and he was recently rewarded for his development with an improved five-year contract.
"You'd never have thought that young boy walking through at six or seven, and signing at Under-9s, you'd get to this stage," Skipp said at the time. "I'm delighted to sign this new deal.
"It's something that I'm very grateful for. It means a lot when you've grown up at the club, when your whole family supports the club."
