Amauri's current loan agreement at the Italian club he first signed for is his fifth such deal in 11 years in Serie A, while he has represented a total of eight sides in the country.
The conclusion on the deal is seen as inevitable, although it fits into a wider merry-go-round of moves involing Marco Borriello, Riccardo Montolivo and even Didier Drogba, who remains a target for AC Milan.
