At 41 years of age and still plying his trade in The Barclays Premier League it is fair to say that when it comes to goalkeeping, Brad Friedel is a legend. Having started his career with a loan spell at Newcastle ? Friedel eventually signed for Liverpool in 1997. Having played now for 15 years in The Premier League spanning over four different clubs ? Friedel has cemented his place at each club as the number one goalkeeper.
Although he found it difficult playing for such a club like Liverpool ? Friedel showed that this spell did not knock his confidence. He spent eight years at Blackburn ? helping them to promotion.
Upon his transfer to Aston Villa ? Freidel joined an elite group of goalscoring goalkeepers. With a 90th minute goal from a corner kick ? although that group has four now, Friedel was the second only keeper at the time to do so.
Unfortunately for Freidel ? his immense streak of 310 consecutive Barlcays Premier League appearances came to an end in 2012. He has been dubbed as 'Superman' and 'The Human Wall' throughout his career ? and his stellar performances earned him number four in this list.
