Ledley King has recovered from minor knee surgery and returned to running during training last week.
Martin Jol said in his pre-Everton press briefing that the Spurs skipper could be ready to make a return to the team when Spurs go to Manchester United in the Premiership on September 9th.
Calum Davenport has deputised during the latter stages of pre-season and the opening fixtures of the new league campaign.
King said: "The (international) break has worked out well for me."
"I haven't missed that many games, just three in the first week, so that's not been too bad."
