One month and six games into the new season, Spurs find themselves inside the bottom four in the Premiership.
Their win at home to Sheffield United on August 22nd prevented them from becoming the basement club at the weekend.
Already Spurs trail fourth place by eight points and 12 goals. Defeats at Bolton, Manchester United and Liverpool as well as a home defeat against Everton, and a 0-0 draw against Fulham at White Hart Lane has pounded misery on Tottenham supporter's hopes of a repeat of last season's top five finish.
It's not as though Martin Jol's side hasn't enjoyed good positions and good possession in most of those games. But 433 minutes have passed by in the league without Spurs scoring a single goal.
