Unable to attend the presigious award ceremony at Planet Hollywood on Tuesday they have instead sent messages of thanks.
Gazza said: “I had a great time at Spurs. the fans are still fantastic to me everywhere i go on my live shows. I will always have great memories and we had great fun in my time there. Thanks for this honour.”
Jimmy Greaves commented: “I'm honoured to be picked in the greatest ever Spurs team by the fans and ex players. I loved my time there and thank you to everybody that voted.”
Gareth Bale has also spoken about the honour of being named in Spurs Greatest Ever Team.
Voted for by the players, fans and pundits Bale is the only contemporary player to make the team from the formidable list of Spurs stars in their history in one of the biggest votes undertaken.
For the book “Down Memory Lane” the players, fans, and pundits cast their votes for their greatest players to mark the final year at the Lane.
From Madrid, Bale has sent a message to the 20 Spurs legends gathering at Planet Hollywood on Tuesday for the presentations and the launch of the Donw Memory Lane book, written by multipile award winning football writer and broadcaster Harry Harris.
Bale says: ”Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who voted me in to the greatest Spurs team of all time, it is a huge honour to be picked alongside so many great players and part of such an amazing club. And best of luck to Harry on the book launch, I look forward to reading it"
