The north London rivals will have to endure replays at Nottingham Forest (on March 2nd) and Sheffield United (on March 1st) respectively. Both matches are to be televised live.

Meanwhile both clubs went into today’s quarter-final draw.

FA Cup sixth round draw in full:
Newcastle United v Spurs or Forest
Bolton Wanderers v Arsenal or Sheffield United
Southampton or Brentford v Manchester United
Burnley or Blackburn v Leicester City

Spurs knocked out Newcastle United on their way to the FA Cup final in 1987. Since then the two clubs have met twice more in the competition, including a semi-final at Old Trafford in 1999.
Tottenham missed out on reaching the final that year and also lost a third round meeting the following season although both ties ended all square after ninety minutes.

Newcastle knocked out Chelsea to reach the sixth round. If Alan Shearer keeps his promise to retire in the summer it will be his last opportunity to lift some silverware.
"The dream is well and truly alive. We wanted a home tie — and got it.
"We knew that whoever we drew at St James’ Park it would be tough but we will be confident.
"It doesn’t matter who we meet, we’re capable of beating them. But we will treat Spurs or Forest with respect," said Shearer.
