"Jermain is a fine striker for us and it is good for him, the players and the fans that he is scoring because it gives everyone confidence," the Spurs boss said after the game.
"He is still young and I hope he gets to play lots of international matches for England because that will give him experience which will help Tottenham.
"We've played four games now and have eight points which makes me very happy considering the difficult preparation we've had.
"Birmingham are a good team with good players. I thought Jesper Gronkjaer was a threat down the right and their strikers were very impressive. It was a difficult match but we showed lots of fighting spirit."
