Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll hopes Mason, a former England Under-20 international, will be able to feature in Friday night's pre-season friendly at Grimsby.
Mason has yet to make a senior appearance for Spurs but also had a successful loan spell at Yeovil in 2009/10.
