There is a vacancy in the starting line-up after Chelsea winger Damien Duff picked up a knock against Cyprus at the weekend. Tottenham’s Andy Reid returns from suspension. He has also seemingly taken the brunt of the blame for the north Londoner’s Carling Cup defeat at Grimsby and has consequently been dropped from the side in the past two Premiership games.
Spurs and Ireland assistant coach Chris Hughton said: "Brian (Kerr, coach) hasn’t named the team yet but Reidy is very much in the frame - he’s a very highly thought of player in the squad."
For Kerr’s side nothing less than three points will do to stand an outside chance of World Cup qualification via the play-offs. However, with the French playing their final game at home, the visitors will be desperate to leave Ireland with three points in order to almost guarantee top spot in Group 4 - so it's set up to be a cracker!
