The 22-year-old had been forced to sit out four of Tottenham’s nine games since his £4.5m move from Nottingham Forest in January, but he was still recalled to Ireland’s starting line-up by manager Brian Kerr against China in Tuesday night’s friendly.
"I knew it would be the case that I wouldn't be able to walk into the team straight away and be the best player there because it doesn't work like that.
"I've adapted quite well and found it a little more tough in training than I have in the games. I have found the biggest difference is how quick the players think. That's something that I'm picking up," said Reid.
