"We had lots of chances, you know, shots kicked off the line today, hit the post, it just wouldn't go in," Redknapp told Sky Sports after the 1-0 home defeat.
"Their keeper's had a great day as well. But that's how it goes.
"We went down to 10 men late on, I'd made all my substitutions then Aaron Lennon couldn't play on, he got a knock.
"And then in the last 15 minutes obviously you're sitting there with 10 men, you think maybe we'll take a point today now because when you've got 10 men it becomes obviously very difficult.
"We just got caught with probably their only real shot on goal and it was a great finish from the lad so credit to them.
"The longer you're sitting there you think 'it's just not going to go in today'.
"You could see them hitting us with a sucker-punch, and I had that feeling, I've seen lots of games like this over the years obviously so that's how it finished."
