"I said to Glenn (Hoddle) after one of my excursions to watch him play that he put me in mind of a young Mark Hughes," Gorman told the clubs official website on Tuesday.
"Power, strength and aggression towards the goal - a sort of old fashioned type that takes people on.
"He plays one-twos, has got a lovely touch.
"When you play in Portugal everyone is comfortable on the ball. He's played with a team that has achieved things as well."
