Pochettino not playing blame game

Spurs head to Hull on Sunday looking to recover from a home defeat by Stoke before the international break which left the White Hart Lane club down in 12th place.

Pochettino, though, remains confident he can turn things around.

"My mentality is to find a solution for positive results

That is my responsibility as a head coach," he said.

"We have to make sure we analyse the tactical situations, all the football side, but we need to improve our mentality as a team, to be more strong in all aspects

I tell that to the players, like I do the media.

"I have to give the tools for us to play better - this is on my shoulders."

Pochettino added: "Now is not the moment to find the guiltiness - it is a moment to be altogether, to be strong

That is our responsibility (as a club).

"My responsibility is to get the results and improve the team.

"Now we need to look forwards and to try to fix something which has happened in the past

We need to improve.

"It is a hard job because Tottenham is a big club with big supporters

This is not how we want it to be.

"But I feel that the same as before, when I was at Southampton and Espanyol.

"We know the situation is not hard, but we need to find a solution."

Despite Spurs being jeered by their own fans during the 2-1 loss against the Potters - their fourth home defeat of the campaign - Pochettino does not feel his position is under threat.

"We need to be positive, but I understand the supporters at home are not happy," he said.

"The solution is just for us to play better on the pitch, to give our supporters the message we want to improve to get success."

Pochettino added: "I have a chat every day with (chairman) Daniel (Levy) on the training ground - that is normal.

"I understand football, but I always feel the support from him and the club.

"This is important for me, because the people want the best for the club."

Pochettino refused to be drawn on the possible imminent arrival of Paul Mitchell, who has reportedly handed in his notice as head of recruitment at Southampton ahead of a move to White Hart Lane.

"Any comments about the rumours in the media is not my job," said the Argentinian, who left St Mary's for north London in the summer.

"(The transfers) are a club decision."

Pochettino has no issues over the decision of Eric Dier to return to Tottenham's Enfield training complex from England Under-21 duty to spend time working on his defensive role.

"For Eric, it is a good situation to play in centre-back," Pochettino said.

"When we signed him, we knew he played in the national team under-21s, that he played like a full-back.

"Now I do not understand the problem, because he is happy to play at the right-back or centre-back.

"We are very happy with Eric."
