Freddie Ljungberg who was unavailable for the first leg a week ago will come in to replace Pires. The Frenchman was missing against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, but had a good game against Juventus at Highbury. Demotion to the bench is expected to hit the player hard as he considers a future away from Arsenal at the end of the season.

He said: "It was very hard not to feel down a few weeks ago. I was really upset with what seemed to be Arsenal's worst season since I arrived at Highbury."
