The Gunners' Champions League semi-final opponents have apparently promised Pires a £3m signing-on-fee plus £30,000 a week for the next two years.
That compares favourably to a one year deal which is the best Arsene Wenger is prepared to offer – a contract policy Dennis Bergkamp has been on, and Jens Lehmann has been offered for next season.
