Now the former Wimbledon centre-back is hoping to play well enough to turn the deal into a permanent move.
"I just want the challenge to play first-team football again," he said.
"I have not even made the bench lately. Glenn Hoddle clearly has different ideas and thought other players would be better.
"I want the move to become a permanent one and I'm sure both teams will be looking at myself and Paul Konchesky to see how well we perform."
