Pedersen in, Mendes out?

The Tottenham head coach has used various players on the left this season, but the main responsibility has fallen to Lee Young Pyo to attack from left back, reported The Times.

After the 2-0 defeat at the Hawthorns last week Jol said: "I want to play good football and then the results will come."

"The only problem was the long ball to Kanu in the corner where YP Lee was playing.

Meanwhile, Pedro Mendes admitted in the Daily Mirror: "Martin Jol has said nothing so I have made a decision that does not please me."

"I want to keep playing at the highest level and if that is not at Spurs then the best thing is to leave."

"Nobody has given me an explanation and that really hurts. I really do not understand why."

Pederson cost Blackburn Rovers £1.5 million when he joined them from Tromso at the start of last season. Mendes joined Spurs on a free transfer at the same time but has failed to be a regular under Jol.

Jol added: "Everyone knows we are not 100 per cent yet. But at Wigan for example, we didn’t start with a flank player and we still had a good game and result."
