"Hopefully I can start a good relationship with the club and in the summer there's a good chance that I could be signing."
The 24-year-old joined the Premier League strugglers on Sunday and could make his debut at Bolton on Wednesday.
O'Hara has yet to play a first-team game since the FA Cup final in May because of a back injury sustained while on loan at Portsmouth last season.
The England Under-21 international is keen to show his commitment to Wolves and has already started searching for properties in the area.
"I didn't want to do the travelling," O'Hara continued. "I don't think it's fair on the club for me to be doing four-hour journeys.
"I've packed my stuff and I'll be moving up with my family so hopefully that shows good commitment to the cause and hopefully I'll be fresh every day for training."
O'Hara joins Barnsley winger Adam Hammill, Dundee striker Leigh Griffiths and goalkeeper Adriano Basso as one of four new arrivals at Molineux in January.
Manager Mick McCarthy is content with the business he has done during the transfer window, despite missing out on signing a couple more of his preferred targets.
"We tried to get Steven Sidwell and that didn't happen," he told BBC WM. "We tried to get Jonathan Woodgate as well and he might be in the squad for Tottenham now.
"But I got Jamie at the last knockings so I'm delighted with that one, and with him and Adam I believe we've got two really good players for the first-team squad."
