Niko will stay if Modric goes

Modric, 25, has been the subject of a fresh ?27million bid from Chelsea who had an earlier ?22million offer rejected this summer.

The diminutive Croatian seems to be leaning towards a move to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea look to reinvigorate their squad before the new campaign.

Spurs are steadfastly refusing to countenance any bids for their talented playmaker, with Kranjcar admitting Modric's future will impact on his.

Kranjcar, 26, made just two Premier League starts last term and has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane.

He has voiced his concern that Spurs' valuation of between 10-15m Euros was hampering any potential departure.

Yet, he says he will extend his stay in North London if his compatriot is sold as that could create more first-team opportunities for him.

"I'm quite calm about the situation at the moment but of course it will be nice to see how things will end," he told Sportske Novosti.

"This summer's transfer window will be one of the most interesting moments in my career.

"But one thing is certain, if Tottenham sell Luka Modric, I will stay. However, if Luka stays, I will probably be loaned out somewhere."
