It has been disclosed that Mido asked Egpyt coach Hassan Shehata why, with ten minutes of the game remaining and the score still level, he was being replaced.
To which Shehata replied: "Because I am the boss."
Mido then shouted back: "You are nothing but a donkey" to which the coach replied: "No, it is you who is the donkey."
After the incident Shehata said: "Mido’s reaction was irresponsible and shocking."
It was also revealed that Mido had earlier insisted he should be granted special permission to share a hotel room with his wife during the tournament staged in Egypt.
