Reid had returned with 90 minutes of recent reserve action under his belt and was slotted into the starting line up at Craven Cottage along with Aaron Lennon, replacing Edgar Davids and Teemu Tainio who suffered a hairline fracture of the fibula and an ankle injury respectively, at White Hart Lane ten days earlier.
The Irishman had missed the previous six weeks of the season and is expected to be out of action again for an even longer period.
Spurs boss Martin Jol said: "He has the same injury as before, a medial ligament problem and it seems to be worse."
