The Spurs midfielder, who has been sidelined since fracuring a leg in the second game of the season against Birmingham City, made a 7o minute appearance for the second dtring in a training ground friendly against Grays Athletic on Tuesday which Spurs won 5-2.
"I can't wait to play again. The last three months were hard but it's behind me now," Modric told the club's official website.
"I did not feel any pain and that is the most important thing. It is great to be back and I am happy. It is a relief after three months.
"I will take it step by step and I'll have to see now when the manager decides to put me back in the squad."
