Midfielders agent dismisses Spurs rumours

Petit's first team place is under threat at Stamford Bridge following their signings of new midfielders and rumours were rife that Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle was set to sign the former Arsenal midfielder.

However, the players agent, Jeff Watson as denied any interest from the Spurs boss.

"There's no credence to the speculation linking him to Tottenham," Watson told BBC Online.

"At the moment he's still trying to get himself fit, after he had a knee operation in the summer.

"But he's happy at Chelsea and he will be more than happy to fight for his place when he's fit."
