Preston North End striker David Nugent went into his first training session with the England senior squad focussed on starting against Israel this Saturday.
The scorer of three goals at Under-21 level said: "I can't wait to get out to training to because I know I have got to prove a point and show everyone that I am as good as everyone else here.
"There are three great strikers here and I want to prove to them that I am pushing for a starting place. I won't get nervous because playing football is what I do and I am sure I can do that to the best of my ability wherever I am."
