QPR striker Jamie Mackie believes the west London derby defeat of Chelsea bodes well for clash with Tottenham.
The Rs became the first promoted club for more than 10 years to beat the Blues as Heidar Helguson's penalty proved enough to see off their near rivals last weekend.
"The lads are really confident as a dressing room, but it is not often a promoted side can play one of the top four and get a result," he said.
"When they came to our place it was a great atmosphere for everyone and I think the lads did really well. On days like that I think you need a bit of luck against the top teams.
"Chelsea had a couple sent off, which gave us a platform to kick on and we got over the line and it gives us confidence against Tottenham now.
"It was nice to get [our first home win] and to do it against Chelsea is even better for the fans so we can kick on now. I think our home form has got to be top draw for us to do well this season and I am sure we can kick on now."
Tottenham provide tough opposition on Sunday as QPR go in search of back-to-back wins for the first time since they returned to the top flight.
Mackie has only appeared fleetingly since the club's promotion due to serious injury, but believes the squad have what it takes to succeed - especially thanks to their summer signings.
"Last season a lot of new players came to the club and we all gelled so we had a good base for the new lads to come in this season," he said.
"All they have done is add to the quality we already had in the team and given us a boost now to kick on the Premier League. Those lads have played in the Premier League for a long time, the likes of Joey Barton and Shaun Wright-Phillips. They are top players."
