The Times suggest the Spurs skipper could be missing for up to five league matches and two FA Cup ties after he suffered a groin injury during the 2-0 win over Birmingham City on Monday.
Martin Jol confirmed yesterday: "It's a groin strain and that always costs you three to four weeks."
He told The Times: "Ledley is my best player, so that is a blow."
Jol tried to cover up any immediate concerns, after the defence was badly exposed twice on Wednesday night at West Brom. "We have others so it shouldn’t be a problem," he added.
Noe Pamerot was among the substitutes on Monday, but Anthony Gardner replaced King in the starting line-up for the defeat at the Hawthorns two days later.
