Ledley King expects to be fit to feature in his first game of the season, at Manchester United this Saturday.
The Tottenham skipper said: "They have been a great team for a long time and have done well at the start of this season.
"But in the last two seasons, we've got draws up there although Louis Saha has been in good form and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come back."
The central defender had recovered from a metatarsal injury which resulted in missing out on the climax to last season and the World Cup, then picked up a knee injury soon after his return in pre-season.
King added: "Training has gone well and my knee has held up. It has really been one week I have missed, but one with three games. The physios and doctors have done well for me."
"It was hard to put into words how frustrating it was. After what happened last season I was thinking about it a lot over the summer and I looked forward to starting off the new season. Then to get injured again was not nice but I had to be strong."
