There remain three routes still available but as the Carling Cup proved for a side not used to competing on so many different fronts, you need to be careful not to miss out on excelling in just one.
Ledley King said: "I think the expectations from last season were rightly high and we all wanted to be involved heavily in everything this season. While we've tried our best, our league displays were not as good as we would have liked, but it is a learning process for our young squad and I am confident that what we have learned from this season will stand us in good stead for the next."
"I am sure we will be better at juggling if we can stay in the UEFA Cup next season. It does take a bit of adapting to and it is a new thing for us."
"Unfortunately we lost to Arsenal in the Carling Cup semi-final, but all the work we did earlier in the season is paying off now. We are getting closer to the prizes now and there are still big games to come. It will be a great time to be involved, we've still got the FA and UEFA Cup to look forward to and we are desperate to win one of them. There are still games in the season for us to pick up points and finish as high as we can. I am sure it can still be a great season."
"To win something would ease the pain of missing out on a chunk of this season, to get some silverware is mine and everyone else's goal at the club and we believe we can do it. If you look back over the years Tottenham have traditionally been a cup team and there has not been too many times when we've been in the top five in recent times.
Mido has featured in recent cup games as Martin Jol has rotated his forwards.
He said: "The last couple of games have gone well for me, I scored against Southend, Arsenal and helped set up the goals against Fulham. I'm pleased with my form and I think the manager is happy as well - we still have plenty of games to go and hopefully I will score more goals.
