Martin Jol also confirmed that Jermaine Jenas took a kick to his shin in training and will not recover in time to face Arsenal tomorrow.
King, who picked up the injury at Everton last weekend said: "I have been asked in the past months about the World Cup and how devastating it would be to get injured, but I wasn't thinking about anything like that. I am disappointed to be missing out on big games we need points from. I have had injuries and setbacks in the past but it was just bad luck for it to happen at the end of the season."
Mido returned to training on Thursday, after he missed both games over Easter with a hamstring injury.
Anthony Gardner (shin) is rated as having a "50-50" chance of returning this weekend after missing the Manchester United game, while midfield pair Teemu Tainio (hamstring) and Edgar Davids (ankle) are both considered slight doubts for Highbury.
