Sheringham told www.spurs.co.uk: "He runs at defenders, creates chances and I'm sure he doesn't know what he's going to do half the time, so how the defenders will know is another matter.
"He keeps everyone on their toes. It's great he's playing on the shoulder of the defence and that suits me.
"I don't know if that's his perfect game, I think he would like to drop into the space, but he's playing with his brain at the moment knowing he has to stay forward.
"He knows if I'm looking to come deep, he has to be on the shoulder to stretch the teams. He's doing that well."
