Martin Jol told The Daily Telegraph: "All credit to Portsmouth but if you see the possession and the effort we put in, it was a fair result. Although they wanted to win, we deserved it more. The goal was their first opportunity.
"Robinson's save kept us in the game and the penalty did it for us. The goals were quality and we showed our ambition. We have a mentality where we always dig in, fight and pressurise teams. It's about confidence and trust and it's not the first time this season the players have shown it."
