It's mid-February and Spurs have now already completed the same number of games as they played in total last season.
Chris Hughton said: "We're having to cope with the amount of games and it's about how you come to terms with it all."
Martin Jol said: "We are not being dragged into the lower reaches, we are 11th with a game in hand, which is not the best of positions because we want to be in the top seven. We are proud of the cup runs this season, but we could have done with five or six points more in the league and that is the issue.
The Tottenham boss identified not taking maximum points at teams struggling near the bottom of the table as opportunities missed.
Jol added: "If we had put our chances away on our travels at places like Watford and Aston Villa there would be no complaints over our league position. I would ask the supporters to stick with us now things have taken an unexpected turn."
"We have come through a bad period before and at times this season we have flourished."
"We did not start the season so well against some of the top teams, but we were then able to train and our season picked up and we went on a great run over October, November and December."
Tottenham have a one point advantage in the league and a game in hand over Sunday's FA Cup fifth round opponents Fulham.
Pascal Chimbonda said: "Some results have gone against us lately even though the team have not played badly. I don't know why we have not done well. But if we can take our chances then we will come good again."
