Jol promises to turn season around

It's imperative Spurs remain in the FA Cup this Sunday. The fifth round draw produced an away fixture, after progressing comfortably at home in the previous rounds against Cardiff (in the replay) and Southend.

The team has done well in terms of league results immediately after competing in Europe this season. However, Martin Jol's side has been forced to swap a first leg Round of 32 tie against Feyenoord for more time on the training ground, after the Dutch club were thrown out of the tournament by UEFA.

Martin Jol said: "Confidence is not low and in the end, our quality will pull us through this period.

"We have a clear week this week with no midweek game or internationals so we can prepare properly for the FA Cup trip to Fulham this Sunday. They might feel we are there for the taking at the moment. We will use that as a motivation.

"We will go to Craven Cottage full of confidence, knowing we will have a big fight on our hands, but determined to progress to the quarter final."

Robbie Keane said: "The lads are fine, of course we are disappointed with our recent run, but we have got a lot of things to look forward to - the UEFA Cup and we are still in the FA Cup."

Paul Robinson said: "We are still in two top cup competitions, while we still want to get into Europe again through the league. To do that we know we've got to start improving our performances on all fronts.

"We've got a good, strong squad with a mean streak and a determination to do well after the last few weeks. We're going to go to Fulham concerned only with the problems we are going to cause them."

Tottenham settled for a draw there in the league last month. The home side, down to ten men, broke the deadlock from the penalty spot near the end but Pascal Chimbonda was on hand to rescue a point late on.

Chris Hughton said: "We will take confidence from having gone there just a few weeks ago and giving a good account of ourselves.

"Last time it was a game where I definitely felt we were going to get something, although them getting the penalty was a massive blow for us. We showed good character to come back from that."
