Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane will both start up front against Charlton at White Hart Lane. They were luckless in front of goal the last time Jol paired them together from the start, but it could be a last chance to prove to the Dutchman that the partnership can work with Mido’s anticipated return from the African Cup of Nations only a week away.
"In the last home game Defoe and Keane played well," said Martin Jol who opted to start with Grzegorz Rasiak as the targetman at Fulham on Tuesday night. The Pole has failed to get off the mark in nine appearances.
Jol added: "There are only four teams in the Premiership who have scored more than us."
The same number of clubs have better goal difference. Spurs have remained overall in the top four of the league since December 12.
