Martin Jol has blamed his midfield for not helping to kill off games earlier.
As well as conceding first in five games in all competitions home and away during November, Spurs still await their first league victory on the road this season.
Prior to turning around a deficit to beat Club Brugges, the previous occasion Spurs had gone behind first in a game was the 3-0 defeat at Liverpool back in September.
He said: "We went 1-0 down against Wigan and that was disappointing because it was the fourth time at home in recent weeks that it has happened to us - the only good thing about it being that we have come back and won each time.
"We had wanted to win every game in the league but this was a game we needed to win to push on. Although our character showed in the end it took us a long time to get the third. A couple of seasons ago we scored five goals on a few occasions and three on others. A margin of one has often not been enough in the Premiership.
"We have recorded good home results since the defeat to Everton, while we have had draws away against Aston Villa, Watford and Blackburn. The disappointing away game for us was Reading. If we had won that we would have been in a terrific situation.
"Overall in all competitions we have done very well but it has not been easy. We have not played the way we would really like to yet. Our passing to the forward players has sometimes been good and sometimes a little sloppy."
