"I set myself a target (of goals for the season) that I wrote down on a piece of paper," he said after scoring his fifth goal for Tottenham on Sunday.
He added: "My best tally for a season was eight when I was at Newcastle."
Following the midfielder’s £7 million move to Spurs last year Martin Jol said he hoped JJ could double the figure he’s on now before the end of his first season at the club.
