Tottenham have earmarked Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg as a replacement for error-prone Heurelho Gomes.
And Harry Redknapp is also keen on Manchester City outcast Shay Given, as the Spurs boss bids to solve his side's problem between the sticks.
Sportsmail exclusively revealed last month that Redknapp has finally lost patience with Gomes after his embarrassing mistake in the Champions League quarter final first-leg against Real Madrid when he let Cristiano Ronaldo's speculative drive slip through his grasp to hand Jose Mourinho's side a 1-0 victory.
The Tottenham boss' resolve to sell the error-prone Brazilian intensified after he made another costly error to allow Frank Lampard to score in the 2-1 Barclays Premier League defeat against Chelsea 10 days ago.
Publicly, Redknapp has continued to defend Gomes despite his growing list of costly mishaps, but behind-the-scenes the Spurs boss is plotting his exit.
Redknapp has already held talks with chairman Daniel Levy about his desire to sign a new goalkeeper ahead of next season and has already informed the White Hart Lane supremo of who he wants to replace Gomes.
Steklenburg, who has also been linked with replacing Edwin van der Saar at Manchester United, is prominent on Redknapp's list.
Calamity: Gomes has made a number of high-profile errors in recent games
The Ajax keeper only has a year left on his deal and is likely to be sold by the Amsterdam club this summer to ensure he does not leave for nothing at the end of next season.
The Holland No 1 could be available for as little as ?9million given his contract status, though Tottenham are not the only club interested in the 28-year-old.
Warming the bench: Given is desperate to leave Eastlands in the summer
Republic of Ireland shot-stopper Given remains a target for Redknapp but doubts linger over whether they can persuade Manchester City to sell. The Eastlands club are not keen on offloading players to their direct rivals.
The FA Cup finalists blocked Craig Bellamy's protracted move to Spurs last summer, forcing the forward to join Championship club Cardiff instead. Spurs also have doubts over Given's injured shoulder, after the former Newcastle man had surgery on the joint last month.
