Harry Kane 'wants to leave' Tottenham - but summer move unlikely

Harry Kane is open to a transfer away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, however any move is unlikely unless the club receive an astronomical bid.

It's no surprise that rumours surrounding the England captain have resurfaced, with Spurs in the midst of a mini-crisis.

José Mourinho's side sit eighth in the Premier League and were unceremoniously dumped out of the Europa League by lowly Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday night, having also lost last week's north London derby. Kane has previously expressed his desire to win trophies, and that is looking increasingly unlikely at Tottenham in the short-term.

Tottenham will contest the Carabao Cup final against a very strong Man City side in April, but it seems a victory there may not be enough to change Kane's mind. However, whether or not he actually gets his move soon is another question entirely.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, The Athletic's David Ornstein revealed that Kane wants to leave the club, but Spurs owner Daniel Levy will only entertain offers in excess of a whopping £120m.

"I speak to a lot of people in football and the consensus is that he would like to leave Tottenham," he said. "He can't say that publicly but he would like to go and win trophies.

"However, that's incredibly unlikely because Daniel Levy would want an astonishingly high figure for him, there were reports today [Sunday] of well in excess of £120m just for Daniel Levy to even consider letting him go."

Ornstein continued: "He wouldn't want to sell to a rival, we know there's admiration from Manchester City, but he would be on the radar of all major clubs. If he wants to go he's going to have to express that to Tottenham otherwise he could miss this opportunity."

The journalist added that he does not believe a move will materialise this summer.

It was reported by The Sunday Times that Levy actually wants £200m for the club's talisman, with the 27-year-old under contract until 2024 and Spurs under no pressure to sell imminently.
