Kane scored twice in Tuesday's win at Norwich to take his tally to 15 goals in the Barclays Premier League this season.
The England striker is now three behind Leicester's Jamie Vardy, who is top of the scoring charts, and two ahead of Argentina ace Aguero, whose campaign with Manchester City has again been interrupted by injury.
"Today Vardy and Kane show big quality and the same quality as Aguero," Pochettino said.
"They are all different and come from different circumstances but if today we speak about Aguero, Vardy or Kane they are some of the best goalscorers in the world
We can't hide that.
"Today Vardy and Kane are at the same level as Aguero."
Tottenham's victory at Carrow Road lifted them to third in the table and above Arsenal on goal difference.
Spurs have not finished above the Gunners since 1995 but Pochettino insists he is not interested in claiming bragging rights in north London.
"It is not my principle motivation," Pochettino said.
"I can feel it is very important for our supporters and all the people that love Tottenham to be above Arsenal because the reality is they are our sporting enemy
You can feel that.
"But for me it is very important to care about our goals and don't think too much about our opponents.
"We are the most important people - we need to try keep our way.
"It is not important what Arsenal do, or Manchester City or Leicester or different clubs."
Pochettino's men host Watford on Saturday as they look to close a five-point gap on surprise league leaders Leicester.
Ryan Mason is back in training and could return from an ankle problem while Dele Alli is also expected to recover after he came off at half-time against Norwich feeling dizzy.
Alli will undergo tests next week to determine the cause of the problem but Pochettino is hopeful the midfielder will be available on Saturday.
"Today he was good in the training session," Pochettino said.
"I am not a doctor, we need to do some tests next week
We are not worried
We need to assess him and we need to know why but I am sure it is not a big problem.
"He feels good now, it is true we need after today to assess him again.
"If he is all normal he will be available on Saturday."
