Chris Gunter, the Wales defender, looks set to become the latest squad player to be allowed to leave White Hart Lane.
Following on from the departures of Ricardo Rocha and Didier Zokora, who joined Sevillia for a reported £8.5 million, the club has accepted an offer from Nottingham Forest for the 19-year-old full-back.
It was thought that Gunter, who joined the club from Cardiff in January 2008, would only leave on loan.
Gunter made just five league appearances in his spell at the club but looked a decent prospect with some promising displays at left-back and right-back.
However, his departure will add fuel to rumours surrounding the imminent arrival of Sheffield United pair Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker, two highly thought of defenders.
Walker and Naughton are inexperienced, naturally right sided players, so it remains to be seen whether one, or both, of them are loaned back to the Championship club.
I for one am disappointed to see Gunter go for £1.75m, especially if we are to sign two unproven talents for a reported fee of £8m.
Chris could have done with a year of regular first team football before being brought back to the club for a chance in the first team. As it is, we'll never know.
Gunter will join Forest, subject to a medical.
