The former Chelsea and Barcelona forward is currently on loan at Spurs from Monaco where he says he wasn't happy plying his trade.
"Football is about being happy what you're doing and I feel alive since I came back to England," he has said.
"In France I just didn't enjoy it. I didn't connect to my surroundings. When you do that and you're not happy in your work, it's difficult to get the best out of yourself.
"That's why I decided to move back to England. I've had to be patient and it was really enjoyable to be back on the pitch.
"Of course getting into the Champions League is at the back of our minds. We're in the fourth place and we're going to try and protect that for as long as we can.
