Friday Transfer Gossip Dawson Tiote Enrique and Parker

Last updated : 15 July 2011 By DSG

History could repeat itself with Dawson switch. It has been 10 years since the then Mr Spurs Sol Campbell made his sensational switch across North London to join arch rivals Arsenal. Now rumour has it that current captain and England International Michael Dawson could be on the verge of repeating the move. The central defender has strenuously denied any truth in reports that he is unsettled at the Lane and that he will look else where if his wage demands are not met. However there is rarely smoke without fire and although the smart money remains on him starting the new season with the Lilywhites, a bid of £15m and a near trebling of his wages to £90k per week could see the unthinkable happen ? again!

Pardew resigned to Tiote loss. Alan Pardew is set to give up on his attempts to keep rising star Cheik Tiote at St James?s Park. The Ivorian midfielder made a massive impact in his first full season with Newcastle and will be forever remembered for his long range strike which completed the four goal comeback against Arsenal last season. However with Michael Essien confined to the treatment table for at least six months, Chelsea are looking for a ready made replacement and see Tiote as the perfect solution to their problems. Both sides deny any talks have taken place, so expect a bid of around £12 million to land the talented youngster.

Enrique to complete Anfield rebuild. Kenny Dalglish will this week complete the final phase of his overhaul of the Liverpool playing staff and add further misery to the Toon Army. The Anfield boss who lost out to Manchester City over the signing of Arsenal?s Gael Clichy is determined that these attempts to fill the vacant left back slot with Luis Enrique will not be similarly thwarted. The Spanish defender is desperate for Champions League football and the final £15 million of Liverpool?s summer spending spree will see the move complete in double quick time.

Parker to finally settle future.  It seems that David Sullivan?s pronouncement earlier in the week that they wish to loan out Scott Parker for a season until West Ham return to the Premiership in 2012 has finally set the wheels in motion on one of the summer?s most protracted transfer sagas. The £3.5 million ?loan fee? was said to have attracted a modicum of interest from Parker?s former club Chelsea, but the current FWA Footballer of the Year is said to favour a permanent move away from Upton Park. Original favourites Arsenal and Spurs appear to have fallen behind in the race for the midfielder?s signature with Aston Villa, another of his former clubs, now at the head of the field. West Ham would be happy to take the £8 million on offer from the Birmingham club and Parker is reportedly happy to rejoin the Villains.
