The media is suggesting it was all a result of Arensen purchasing players that Santini did not rate, with the prime suspect being Michael Carrick.
Spurs meanwhile are doggedly toeing the party line of there being no rift whatsoever this was all down to personal problems in France, perhaps Madame Santini was not enamored with this idea of living in England (As was the case with Senora Trappatoni, allegedly).
It is true that Santini did not play Carrick that often, however it was pretty obvious that his 1st choice CM pairing was Mendes & Davis.
As mere fans of the club we are unlikely to ascertain the truth with any certainty.
Much more pertinent is the question of Martin Jol’s suitability, early indications are good as it has become obvious that he has put himself forward so presumably is already comfortable with Arensen’s role, something which would rule out most British/Home nations managers.
Is he up to it?, Only time will tell.
Saturday’s game should have demonstrated to him that Bunjy, Davies & Redknapp are simply not up to it anymore.
Spurs visibly improved with inclusion of Ziegler & Carrick that from 3 - 0 down were unlucky not to have at least drawn if not won the game.

In the last half hour the only creative Charlton input was 3 “Long Walk” substitutes to waste time, Oh well onwards & downards.
