He arrived at White Hart Lane with a big price tag around his neck and the added expectation that he would walk into the role vacated by Michael Carrick.
Zokora's first season in English football has been unremarkable and the former St Etienne midfielder has been accused by many of being too lightweight for the Premiership.
Martin Jol has stuck by the Ivorian and rarely left him out of the side, despite many ineffective performances. Recently he's been given added protection in the centre, which has cost Steed Malbranque a starting role, despite impressing far more than Zokora, since arriving from Fulham at around the same time last year.
Zokora said: "I am playing better now and the team is giving me confidence. The manager talked with me so I am very happy with everything and I feel good."
