Referee Graham Poll judged Robbie Keane to have denied Bolton an obvious goal-scoring opportunity in the 36th minute at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
The striker hadn't prevented a goal with the alleged use of his hand because the player's chest had already diverted the ball's path away from the goalline.
Keane said: "I was gutted because the ball hit my chest first, but that's the way it goes."
With a two goal advantage still intact after Gary Speed had tucked away the resulting penalty for Bolton, Dimitar Berbatov played the remainder of the game up front for Spurs alone, as Mido and Jermain both watched from the bench.
Mido said: "We are all coping well and at the end of the day, the winner is Spurs. Here, if I'm not playing and Berba and Keano are playing, or Berba and Jermain, they will do the same job. Believe me, if Jermain is playing instead of Robbie, he will do the same and if Berba isn't playing, I will do the same job. Not many teams in England have strikers who can do that job to the same level.
Defoe said: "Hopefully I will get back in there and it will be good to really be part of it again. The boys are playing well which makes you hungry and that will make it easier for me to come back in the team and play well."
Mido added: "I think we've done very well. It's about ups and downs and it's very emotional. Bolton was one of Berba's best games for Spurs and Robbie was fantastic before he was sent off. But it's not just about goals and assists, it's about how well we play."Source: TheFA.com/TottenhamHotspur.com
