It's even less fortunate news ahead of tonight's UEFA Cup Group B opener in Istanbul for Young-Pyo Lee (ankle) and Egyptian pair Hossam Ghaly (hamstring) and Mido (thigh).
Teemu Tainio (hernia) and Steed Malbranque (groin) have both undergone recent operations.
Spurs boss Martin Jol confirmed: "Hossam has tried hard to come with us to Istanbul but Mido did not make the trip. Jermain had a little problem with his foot on Tuesday."
